After a day of rest, I hiked the Dripping Springs Trail which was a Winnie the Poo outing compared to hiking down to the Colorado River and back. This view was along that trail and looking down toward the river which is 4000 feet below me at that point.

The springs themselves were just that. A small seep of water emerged from the rock and came dripping down some ferns into a small (two foot diameter) pool. The reason they had a whole trail named after them was that water is so scarce in the Grand Canyon. All the tourist facilities get their water from half way up the NORTH rim of the Grand Canyon. It is piped downhill to the river, across the river and then pumped uphill again on the other side. A serious undertaking just to get water.
