In February of 2003, I went on a backcountry ski trip to central British Columbia, near Golden, BC. Sentry Mountain Lodge was advertised as the finest backcountry lodge in the Rockies and it was brand new. It was a ten hour drive from Seattle up to Rogers Pass, a short distance from the staging area. There were eight of us who flew into the lodge by chopper and spent seven glorious days skiing. Every run was fresh powder. The highlight though was the lodge and the food. Alex had fresh baked good ready for us every morning, cold cuts for lunch, appetizers in the late afternoon and a wonderful supper every night. Of course, the sauna was used daily by all of us. I have been forever spoiled by the experience. A few of the better pictures on the left. |
